From her surviving
husband Bill:
Carol passed away in
her sleep during the night of 18/19 February. We found we could not wake
her on Monday morning. She fought a failing immune system ever since 1989.
Her 18 year-long course of medical care was first rate. However, infection
after infection and course of antibiotic after course of antibiotic and
most recently, infusions every four weeks of gamma globulin finally took
its' toll.
We have scheduled
calling hours (VISITATION)
at Trinity Lutheran Church in Leavenworth, KS for her on
Sunday evening, February 25th between 4 and 6 pm. Her funeral
will be Monday morning, Feb 26 at 10 am at Trinity Lutheran,
followed by interment at the Leavenworth VA Cemetery. She'll
even get a folded flag and a bugler to play taps in recognition of her two
tours of duty as an Army nurse in Vietnam(68-69 and 70-71).
She passed away at
home very peacefully but way to early. She would have had her 62nd
birthday this Thursday, Feb 22nd. I already miss my best friend of 37
years very, very much.
Blessings in Christ,
Bill McLaughlin
