  Captain Robert 'Dave' Melton   Captain Robert D. "Dave" Melton was shot and killed Tuesday, 19 July 2016, while on duty in Kansas City, Kansas.

Captain Melton joined the Kansas City Police Department in December 1999, and was currently serving as a Captain in Bureau of Operations and as a member of the Honor Guard. Prior to that he worked as a Wyandotte County Sheriff Deputy from 1990 to 1999.  He served as an enlisted soldier in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1986 to 2012.

The Patriot Guard extends sincere sympathy to the Melton family, friends, and fellow officers.  Please keep them in your prayers.

  The Patriot Guard has been invited to attend the funeral service of Captain Melton.

STAGING OPENS AT 7:45AM - FLAG LINE IN PLACE AT 8AM
Ride to the stadium parking on France Family Drive.
Law Enforcement Officers will direct riders to the staging area.
