Patriot Guard is Over Five Years Old

Patriot Guard,

It has been 5 years since the establishment of the Patriot Guard Fallen Hero funeral mission to stand guard for families of America's Fallen Heroes who died fighting terrorism in Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan War and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq War.

The Patriot Guard originated 24 July 2005 in Mulvane, Kansas.  It was established by American Legion Riders Post 136.  The Patriot Guard mission is to stand guard at funerals of America's Fallen Heroes who are killed in action or are casualties of the current wars on terrorism in Afghanistan, Iraq, or any war zone.  We also offer this support to law enforcement and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty.  We shield them from protesters, showing our deepest respect and honoring the Fallen Heroes, their families, and their communities.

The following link is for the funeral procession down main street Hutchinson, KS to Eastside Cemetery for Fallen Hero US Army Sgt Ralph Mena, KIA 04 May 2010 in Iraq, military funeral held on Monday 17 May 2010.  The video shows your reverent and solemn professional demeanor as you escorted Sgt Mena to his final resting place.  Our American, Kansas, and service branch flags flew proudly in Sgt Mena's honor.

No matter what the weather was over these 5 years you were there.  Thanks to all of you for your continued commitment to be part of the Patriot Guard Fallen Hero Funeral Mission.
