ALR/PG Prayer Request

ALR Post 139 Riders

Jessie Ortiz and Steve McVey

Sunday, June 3, 2007
Chapter Officers & contacts share with your members- : please keep Jesse Ortiz & Steve McVey in your thoughts & prayers...Thanks- Ride Safe!  Bronco 6

UPDATE from Skip Post 139:
I talked to Jessie's son, Bobby last night and he said that Jessie had surgery to drain the fluid on his brain and all went well.  His doctor also said that the fall on the Motorcycle did not cause the problem.  It turned out to have been caused by a more recent incident that Jessie had with a ladder.  Anyway, he is doing fine and should be home within a week or so.

I understand that Steve went through his first surgery yesterday at St John Medical Center in Tulsa.  The doctors are going to have to do several operations, it seems, in order to save Steve's left foot.  I hear that he is doing well and is in good spirits.

ALR  Post 139 ( Independence )  had 2 riders air lifted to the hospital yesterday.  The first one is Jessie Ortiz.  Jessie had a minor bike accident in his driveway in March and nothing was found.  According to his son, Bobby, it seems that fluid has been collecting on his brain and Jessie was having trouble maintaining his balance.  The problem was discovered yesterday and he was air lifted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.  Jessie was scheduled for surgery today at 11:00.  I've heard nothing on the outcome.  Jessie is in Room 402 at Wesley.  The second rider is Steve McVey.  Yesterday at approximately 4:10 p.m.  Steve was in route to Caney Kansas when a 4 wheeler turned in front of him.  Steve was unable to avoid the impact and collided with the SUV.  Steve sustained severe injuries and was air lifted to St Johns Hospital in Tulsa.  He is in room 1005.  It wasn't a very good day for the Independence Chapter.  Please pass this information on statewide and keep these two riders in everyone's prayers.
