Patriot Guard Mission Complete for
Fallen Hero Firefighter Captain Neal W. Smith
Died in Line of Duty

Mission Dates: Wednesday - Thursday, 26-27 Sept 2012

     Thank you to everyone who attended the mission to honor Cpt. Neal Smith in Wichita, KS.   The Patriot Guard was honored to be invited by his family to provide escort and attend the graveside service for their Fallen Hero.  Everyone did an outstanding job.  We thank all Patriot Guard members for your continued commitment and dedication to stand guard for our Fallen Heroes.  Cpt. Smith received a Hero's final homecoming escort and final sendoff from Patriot Guard members and many Firefighters from his Atascosita, Texas Fire Department, and Firefighters from the Wichita area.

     Cpt. Smith's family and friends, and all his fellow Firefighters in Kansas and Texas extend their appreciation and thanks to everyone who were present, as well as to those who could not participate but offered their prayers. God bless Neal Smith, his family and friends, and all firefighters who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve their communities.

       Firefighter Captain Neal W. Smith, 46, of the Atascocita, Texas Volunteer Fire Department, died in the line of duty on Monday, 17 September 2012.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and Wichita native.  His funeral was held in Humble, Texas on Monday, 24 September.  Cpt. Smith was transported to Wichita, KS for burial at Greenwood Cemetery.  He was laid to rest with firefighter honors provided by his Atascocita, Texas Honor Guard and Kansas Firefighters Honor Guard.
